True Markets Launches DeFi Orderbook for Tokenized Nvidia Equities
By Lauren Towner · 2 October 2026

True Markets has launched DeFi Orderbook trading for tokenized equities, beginning with Nvidia (NVDAc/USDC), to solve the "unanchored pricing" issues prevalent in decentralized markets. For fintech professionals, this move signals a shift toward bringing institutional-grade execution standards, including limit orders and best execution reporting, to the burgeoning on-chain security token ecosystem.
What was announced
True Markets is introducing a central limit order book (CLOB) model to the world of tokenized equities, a significant departure from the Automated Market Maker (AMM) models that have historically dominated decentralized finance. The initial offering focuses on tokenized Nvidia (NVDAc/USDC), specifically addressing the technical challenge of slippage. In 24/7 global markets, tokenized assets often suffer from what the company defines as unanchored pricing—a phenomenon where a tokenized security trades at a price that has come loose from the primary market of the underlying asset it is meant to track.
The new venue is engineered to provide on-chain stocks with the execution standards expected in a regulated equity market. This includes the implementation of price protection mechanisms and the ability for market participants to rest non-marketable limit orders directly on an orderbook, rather than relying on the passive liquidity pools typical of DeFi. Furthermore, the platform provides post-trade best execution reporting and price improvement capabilities. These features are designed so that brokers can receive better execution than what is available in the "out loud" market, mirroring the sophisticated routing and matching found in traditional finance.
Currently, the NVDAc/USDC pair is available in beta for eligible clients located outside the United States. Access is facilitated through True Markets’ proprietary APIs and a FIX gateway, which is the standard communication protocol for international real-time exchange of information related to securities transactions. While the rollout begins with Nvidia, the infrastructure is built to support additional books in the future.
"If you buy tokenized Nvidia, you should get Nvidia prices. Today a market order worth a few hundred dollars can cost more than 100 basis points on a given AMM pool. Tokenized assets are the next evolution of markets, and necessitate the same quality of execution, if not better, than traditional markets."

The companies involved
True Markets is a New York-based markets infrastructure and stablecoin-native exchange company. The firm provides a single API designed to give institutions and developers streamlined access to more than 300 assets across both centralized and decentralized trading venues. Its infrastructure is built to handle the complexities of modern digital finance, supporting organization-level account structures, sponsored gas to simplify the user experience of on-chain transactions, and on-chain settlement directly to self-custody wallets. This setup allows for a hybrid approach where users maintain control of their assets while benefiting from centralized-style execution speeds.
The leadership at True Markets brings significant institutional experience from the core of the digital asset industry. Vishal Gupta, the Co-Founder and CEO, previously held a senior role at Coinbase where he was instrumental in scaling the Coinbase Exchange. He also led the go-to-market strategy for USDC at Circle, one of the most widely used stablecoins in the world. This background informs the company's focus on bridging the gap between traditional financial execution standards and the technical advantages of blockchain-based settlement. By positioning itself as a provider of stablecoin-native infrastructure, True Markets aims to facilitate the institutional adoption of tokenized real-world assets by providing the connectivity, depth, and account management tools required by professional trading entities.
What this means
The introduction of order book mechanics to tokenized equities highlights a critical maturation phase for the real-world asset (RWA) sector. As institutional interest shifts from experimental pilots to active trading, the limitations of AMMs—specifically high slippage and price divergence—become untenable for regulated securities. This development puts pressure on existing DeFi protocols to evolve their liquidity models or risk losing institutional flow to sophisticated API-driven venues. The focus on "unanchored pricing" addresses a major hurdle in cross-venue arbitrage and price discovery. However, the industry still faces an open question: can on-chain order books maintain enough liquidity to compete with the deep, established pools of traditional equity markets?
