CFI Financial Group has introduced Gold 24/7, a new instrument allowing traders to access gold markets over weekends. For fintech professionals, this represents a significant shift in retail brokerage offerings, bridging the gap between traditional commodity markets and the 24/7 liquidity expectations set by the digital asset sector.

What was announced

CFI Financial Group has launched Gold 24/7, a new trading instrument identified by the symbol XAUUSD-24H. This product allows eligible clients to trade and manage gold positions throughout the entire week, including during the traditional weekend gap when standard global gold markets are typically closed. Unlike standard spot gold (XAUUSD), Gold 24/7 operates as a distinct instrument with its own specific pricing, trading hours, and product conditions.

The service is available from Monday through Sunday, between 00:05 and 23:58 Server Time. This launch is part of a wider strategy to extend trading access across various asset classes. Gold 24/7 joins an existing lineup of weekend-capable instruments at CFI, which includes currency pairs such as EUR/USD (EURUSDw) and USD/JPY (USDJPYw). Additionally, the firm offers digital asset CFDs, including Bitcoin vs. Gold (BTCXAU), which already operate on a 24/7 basis.

The rollout is being handled through specific CFI entities and is subject to local regulatory requirements in various jurisdictions. By decoupling gold trading from traditional exchange hours, the firm aims to provide greater flexibility for traders responding to geopolitical or economic shifts that occur outside the standard Monday-to-Friday window. The addition of Gold 24/7 means the group's extended-hours offering now spans currencies, digital assets, and precious metals.

"The world does not pause when traditional markets close, and neither do the events that move them. We have been gradually extending access beyond conventional trading hours where it makes sense, and Gold 24/7 is part of that broader direction. It gives clients more flexibility around when they can access the market, while reflecting how trading is continuing to evolve."

The group maintains a significant global footprint, operating from major financial hubs including London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Amman, Cairo, Cape Town, Baku, and Bogotá. In addition to individual ambassadors, CFI is deeply integrated into sports and cultural sectors through collaborations with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the Lebanese Basketball Federation, and the Jordan Football Association. This positioning reflects the group’s focus on performance and innovation within the competitive retail and institutional trading landscape, leveraging more than two decades of experience in the global markets.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has previously covered the group’s extensive efforts to build brand equity through sports sponsorship and regional expansion. In August 2024, we reported on how CFI Expands Partnership with Jordan Football Association, Renames League to "Jordanian Pro League - CFI". This move saw the company secure naming rights for Jordan’s top-tier football division, underscoring its strategy of deep regional integration and visibility in the Middle Eastern market. This previous reporting highlights the firm's aggressive approach to market presence and its commitment to supporting community-level sports while simultaneously scaling its financial services infrastructure across its key operating territories.

What this means

This move signals a broader industry shift where the boundaries between traditional finance and the always-on nature of digital assets are blurring. By offering weekend gold trading, CFI is directly addressing the growing demand for continuous market access, a trend largely driven by the 24/7 nature of the cryptocurrency market. This puts significant pressure on traditional brokerages that still adhere to rigid exchange-based schedules, potentially forcing a wider adoption of synthetic or over-the-counter weekend instruments across the sector. However, the success of such offerings will depend on maintaining tight spreads and sufficient liquidity during periods when the underlying primary markets are dormant.
