Apex Group and droppRWA Launch Unified Trust Stack for Institutional RWA Tokenisation
By Lauren Towner · 2 October 2026

Apex Group and droppRWA have launched a strategic collaboration to develop the Unified Trust Stack, a solution designed to bridge the gap between verified real-world assets and regulated financial infrastructure. For fintech professionals, this move signals a significant push to institutionalise tokenisation by integrating blockchain-based verification directly into traditional fund administration and distribution frameworks.
What was announced
The partnership introduces the Unified Trust Stack, a comprehensive solution aimed at the entire investment lifecycle of real-world assets (RWAs). By combining droppRWA’s proprietary blockchain-based asset verification with Apex Group’s established regulated fund structuring and administration services, the companies aim to provide a more direct route for assets to reach investors. The solution also leverages Tokeny for both traditional and digital asset distribution, ensuring that the governance and investor servicing of digital products remain consistent with traditional institutional standards.
A primary focus of the collaboration is the Saudi Arabian market, chosen for its ongoing capital market digitalisation and the broader objectives of Vision 2030. The companies intend to use the Kingdom as a foundation for expansion across the Middle East. Beyond administration, the agreement explicitly identifies the development of technology for digital securities, digital identity, compliance automation, and tokenised cash integration. This technical integration is intended to pursue joint client and market opportunities for the Unified Trust Stack.
The collaboration also targets institutional delivery-versus-payment (DvP) use cases. By exploring the connection between asset securities and cash settlement, the Unified Trust Stack seeks to enable atomic DvP. This integration addresses the trust gap that often hinders large-scale capital entry into tokenised assets by ensuring that the underlying information can be independently verified and linked to a central depository or registry.
"Tokenisation on its own doesn't solve the problem. For real-world assets to attract institutional capital at scale, they need the same robust structuring, administration and investor protections institutions expect from traditional investments. The opportunity is to connect trusted underlying assets with regulated investment infrastructure and, ultimately, the settlement layer. By working with droppRWA, we can bring those components closer together through the Unified Trust Stack. Saudi Arabia is a compelling place to start given the transformation underway across its capital markets and the ambitions of Vision 2030."

What FF News has reported before
Apex Group has been a frequent subject of coverage, with 44 previous reports detailing its expansion into digital and regional markets. Recently, FF News reported that Apex Group Taps Euroclear Veteran Jørgen Ouaknine to Lead Digital Markets Infrastructure, a move that underscored the firm’s commitment to building institutional-grade digital rails. The firm’s regional focus was also highlighted when Invest Qatar and Apex Group Partner to Establish Global Asset Servicing Hub in Lusail. Additionally, the broader trend of tokenisation in the GCC was evidenced by the news that Zamanat Launches $100M Tokenized Private Credit Fund to Bridge GCC SME Financing Gap, illustrating the growing appetite for RWA solutions in the territory.
What this means
This announcement moves the needle by shifting the focus of tokenisation from the "how" of blockchain technology to the "how" of institutional compliance. By integrating verification with administration, Apex Group is addressing the primary hurdle for RWA adoption: the lack of a standardized trust layer. This puts pressure on traditional custodians and administrators who have yet to bridge their legacy systems with on-chain asset data. The choice of Saudi Arabia as a launch market is a calculated bet on the region's regulatory agility and the capital available under Vision 2030. The industry must now ask whether this "Unified Trust Stack" can achieve cross-border interoperability or if it will remain a localized solution for specific jurisdictions.
