EDGE Markets to Process $2B in Transactions This NFL Season via Real-Time EDGE Connect
By Lauren Towner · 23 October 2026

EDGE Markets expects to process over $2 billion in transactions during the current NFL season, nearly doubling the volume recorded in the previous year. For fintech professionals, this surge highlights the growing demand for specialized payment rails that bypass traditional banking hours to support the high-velocity requirements of prediction markets and sports gaming during peak events.
What was announced
EDGE Markets has projected a transaction volume of more than $2 billion for the current NFL season, a significant increase from the $1.2 billion processed during the previous season. This growth follows the rollout of EDGE Connect, a feature designed to move funds in real time from the EDGE Boost account to partner prediction markets. In the first 44 days of the season alone, the company processed over $800 million, representing a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year.
EDGE Boost operates as a special purpose debit account paired with a Visa debit card. It is designed to keep trading funds separate from a user's everyday finances, allowing for a consolidated view of a trading balance. The system enables 24/7/365 transfers to partner platforms including Kalshi, Polymarket, ProphetX, and Splash Sports. Unlike traditional banking transfers that may be delayed by weekends or holidays, EDGE Connect facilitates immediate movement of capital even when banks are closed.
The service is built for high-volume activity, supporting transactions of up to $5 million and daily movement of up to $50 million to specific partners. The account is funded through ACH, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency converted to USD via Zero Hash. Notably, the product does not support credit funding, relying instead on the user's own capital. Users also earn up to 0.5% cash back on qualifying spend categories with no fees for moving money to partner markets.
The companies involved
EDGE Markets is a financial services firm specifically engineered to serve the prediction market, gaming, and cryptocurrency sectors. The company focuses on bridging the gap between traditional financial infrastructure and the high-speed requirements of modern digital trading environments. By providing dedicated debit accounts and real-time connectivity, it positions itself as a critical infrastructure layer for the burgeoning prediction market industry.
The company’s ecosystem includes major partners such as Kalshi, a federally regulated exchange that allows users to trade on the outcome of real-world events. Kalshi has established a significant presence in the market, with extensive prior coverage reflecting its role in institutionalizing event-based trading. Other key partners include Polymarket, a decentralized prediction market platform, and ProphetX, which focuses on sports prediction markets. These partnerships allow EDGE Markets to serve a diverse range of traders across both regulated and decentralized environments. The integration with Zero Hash further enables the company to facilitate the conversion of digital assets into USD, catering to the crypto-native segment of the trading population.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed the evolution of the prediction market landscape and EDGE Markets' role within it. Recently, the publication covered how EDGE Markets Launches Agentic Banking and Programmatic Capital for Institutional Traders, highlighting the firm's expansion into institutional services. The broader sector has seen significant activity, including when Tribal Nations Launch Federally Regulated Prediction Markets Powered by Kalshi. Additionally, FF News reported on infrastructure developments such as when ProphetX and Plaee Partner to Scale Regulated U.S. Sports Prediction Markets for Operators. The focus on user safety has also been a recurring theme, as seen when Polymarket Launches Responsible Trading Tools and Mental Health Support for Prediction Markets.
What this means
The projected $2 billion in transaction volume signals that prediction markets are moving from a niche interest to a high-volume financial sector. This growth puts immense pressure on traditional banking infrastructure, which is fundamentally unequipped to handle the volatility and timing of sports-related trading. When markets shift based on a Sunday injury report, the 48-hour delay of a standard ACH transfer becomes a competitive disadvantage. EDGE Markets is effectively building a specialized real-time settlement system for the gaming industry. The success of this model raises questions for traditional retail banks about whether they will continue to lose transaction volume to specialized "side-car" accounts that offer better utility for specific consumer behaviors.
