Dune has launched real-time market data feeds for onchain trading, covering more than 200 venues across 12 different blockchains. The move allows hedge funds and institutional asset managers to integrate decentralized price discovery into the same technical stacks used for listed markets, as tokenized equities and onchain perpetuals reach significant scale.

What was announced

The launch of Dune Market Data Feeds provides real-time trade data for institutional users, including market makers and brokers. The service is divided into three primary components: a Spot Feed, a Perpetuals Feed, and a comprehensive Reference Data layer. The Spot Feed aggregates trades from over 200 venues across 12 chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, BNB Chain, and XLayer. The Perpetuals Feed specifically tracks trades on Hyperliquid and Lighter.

The release comes as onchain trading volumes hit record levels. Spot volume on decentralized exchanges reached $6.8 trillion last year, and approximately 25% of all spot crypto trading now occurs onchain. Growth is particularly aggressive in tokenized traditional assets; tokenized stocks and ETFs saw over $37 billion in onchain trade volume in Q3 2026, marking an 18-fold increase since the start of the year. Furthermore, perpetuals tied to stocks and equity indices on Hyperliquid accounted for $201 billion in volume during the same period.

Dune’s new feeds utilize a unified data model where every trade includes price, size, side, and a stable identifier, with direct links to the underlying settlement transaction. This structure is designed to resolve the "messy" nature of raw onchain data. The service also supports data from XLayer, following a filing by an OKX and ICE joint venture to list 63 tokenized U.S. stocks on the platform after the SEC opened a regulatory path for such instruments in September.

"Onchain trading now represents about 25% of all spot crypto trading volume, and the SEC is paving the way for stocks and other instruments to also benefit from onchain trading venues. But everything happening onchain is messy and needs context. Dune has for many years been the industry standard for onchain analytical market data. Now we are expanding to real-time feeds, including rich reference data, so anyone can trade with clarity and confidence about which instruments trade where, and at what prices."

The companies involved

Dune is widely regarded as the industry standard for onchain data and analytics. The company provides the infrastructure necessary for users to query, extract, and visualize vast amounts of data from various blockchain networks. While it has historically been known for its analytical dashboards and historical data tools, this latest expansion into real-time feeds signals a shift toward serving the high-frequency requirements of institutional trading desks and financial intermediaries.

Led by Co-Founder and CEO Fredrik Haga, Dune operates within the European enterprise market. The firm has consistently positioned itself as a bridge between the transparency of public blockchains and the sophisticated requirements of professional investors. By standardizing data across disparate chains like Solana and Ethereum into a single model, Dune competes with both crypto-native data providers and traditional financial data giants that are increasingly forced to account for the growing volume of tokenized real-world assets.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has previously tracked Dune’s efforts to integrate blockchain technology into its own corporate operations. In August 2026, we reported that Dune Becomes First EU Enterprise to Accept Stablecoin Payments via Stripe. That milestone highlighted the company’s role as an early adopter of onchain financial infrastructure, moving beyond data provision to utilize stablecoins for enterprise-level transactions. This internal adoption of onchain tools mirrored the broader market trend Dune is now capitalizing on with its real-time market data feeds.

What this means

This announcement marks a professionalization of the onchain data stack. For years, decentralized exchange data was fragmented and difficult to ingest for traditional algorithmic trading systems. By providing a unified data model that mirrors listed market feeds, Dune is removing a significant technical barrier for traditional hedge funds. The inclusion of ICE’s joint venture data is particularly telling; it suggests that the infrastructure for "TradFi" and "DeFi" is finally merging. This puts immense pressure on legacy data vendors who lack deep onchain indexing capabilities. The primary question now is whether the liquidity on these 200+ venues will eventually force traditional brokers to treat onchain feeds as a mandatory part of their best-execution obligations.
