Anchorage Digital and Securitize Partner to Enable Direct Stablecoin Minting for Institutions
By Lauren Towner · 23 October 2026

Anchorage Digital and Securitize have partnered to enable direct minting and redemption of stablecoins through a federally chartered bank. For fintech professionals, this bridges the gap between institutional tokenized securities and the cash side of trades, removing intermediaries and ensuring both sides of a transaction meet the same federal regulatory and custody standards.
What was announced
Anchorage Digital and Securitize have launched a partnership that enables the direct minting and redemption of stablecoins through Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A. This integration allows institutional investors on the Securitize platform to settle tokenized trades using digital dollars issued and custodied by a federally chartered bank. The service is designed to eliminate the need for third-party intermediaries when sourcing stablecoins, ensuring that the cash side of a transaction meets the same regulatory and counterparty standards as the securities side.
Securitize currently serves as the regulated infrastructure for tokenized funds from major financial institutions, including BlackRock, KKR, Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, and VanEck, with over $4 billion in assets under management on its platform. The new partnership incorporates Anchorage Digital Bank’s stablecoin ecosystem, which includes USDtb—issued in partnership with Ethena Labs—and USA₮, developed with Tether. One federally chartered bank now handles every stage of the process, from the initial minting of the dollar to its final redemption, while maintaining assets in segregated accounts.
The scale of this integration is reflected in the reserves of USDtb. As of August 31, 2026, approximately 99% of USDtb’s $530 million in reserves were held in BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, which is itself tokenized by Securitize. This arrangement illustrates how institutional money market assets are increasingly serving as the foundational infrastructure for regulated digital dollars. The move comes as the real-world asset (RWA) market continues to expand, growing from approximately $23 billion at the end of 2025 to $31 billion as of March 2026.
"Anchorage Digital Bank is purpose-built to issue stablecoins at scale under federal oversight. Securitize is where the world's largest asset managers bring funds onchain, and now the dollars moving through that platform come from a federally chartered bank. Regulated issuance is what lets tokenization reach institutional scale."

The companies involved
Anchorage Digital is the parent of Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., which holds the distinction of being the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States. The institution operates as a national trust bank, providing a regulated bridge for institutions to access digital asset markets with federal oversight. Securitize is a leading platform in the digital assets sector, specializing in the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). It currently manages more than $4 billion in assets and provides the underlying infrastructure for funds from major global investment firms, including KKR and BlackRock. The company’s focus is on the migration of traditional financial products, such as stocks and bonds, into a digital format. Both entities occupy significant positions in the fintech landscape, with Securitize acting as the issuance layer for institutional funds and Anchorage providing the regulated banking and custody infrastructure necessary for large-scale settlement.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has extensively covered the evolution of the stablecoin and digital payments market. In October 2026, we reported that StraitsX Partners with Visa to Launch Stablecoin-Backed Cards in Over 100 Markets, a move that signaled increasing mainstream adoption of digital currencies. Our coverage also includes Visa and Mesh Partner to Enable Crypto Payments at 175 Million Merchants Globally, focusing on the infrastructure required for global crypto transactions. Furthermore, the integration of advanced technology into B2B payments was highlighted when Visa, BILL and Billtrust Launch First Live Pilot for Trusted AI Agent B2B Payments, illustrating the broader trend of traditional financial players adopting blockchain-adjacent technologies to improve settlement efficiency.
What this means
The partnership addresses a critical friction point in the institutional adoption of onchain finance: the mismatch between regulated securities and unregulated settlement assets. While the tokenization of funds from giants like KKR and BlackRock has progressed rapidly, the "cash leg" of these transactions has often relied on intermediaries or stablecoins lacking federal oversight. By integrating a federally chartered bank directly into the minting and redemption process, Anchorage and Securitize are setting a new compliance floor for the RWA sector. This puts significant pressure on offshore or non-bank stablecoin issuers who cannot offer the same level of counterparty certainty to risk-averse institutional treasurers.
