BIT Securities Launches Hong Kong Stock Trading with Stablecoin Settlement
By Lauren Towner · 14 October 2026

Digital asset financial services group BIT has expanded its brokerage reach by launching Hong Kong stock trading under its newly rebranded "BIT Securities" arm. This move creates a unified cross-market platform where fintech investors can manage U.S. equities, Hong Kong stocks, and digital assets in a single account, significantly lowering the friction between traditional and crypto-native capital markets.
What was announced
BIT Securities has transitioned from a U.S.-focused equity offering into a multi-market financial services platform. The new Hong Kong stock service provides access to all securities listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Main Board and GEM. Key features include margin trading and IPO subscriptions, designed to integrate seamlessly with the platform's existing digital asset infrastructure.
Crucially for the crypto-native demographic, the service eliminates the need for traditional bank accounts or manual currency conversion into Hong Kong dollars. Users can facilitate deposits and withdrawals 24/7 using USDT or USDC, with funds arriving in as little as seconds. Existing users of the platform’s U.S. stock service can activate Hong Kong trading immediately, allowing for diversified asset allocation across three distinct markets within one interface.
The expansion follows a rapid period of development; since debuting U.S. stock trading in February 2026, the firm added margin trading, short selling, and options within eight months. With the addition of the Hong Kong market, the firm has completed what it describes as a closed loop for diversified allocation. To support the launch, BIT Securities is offering zero-commission trading and zero-interest margin IPO subscriptions through November 11, 2026. Compliance is managed via Matrix Gelephu Pte. Ltd., a Bhutan-licensed subsidiary, while trade execution and custody are handled by Atomic Vaults Asia, which holds a Type 1 license from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
"The launch of Hong Kong stock trading further strengthens BIT's cross-market service offering. Built on BIT's unified underlying account system, it allows investors to allocate across U.S. stocks, Hong Kong stocks and digital assets more efficiently and flexibly. We want to break down the high barriers of traditional finance, so that 'global asset allocation' is no longer reserved for a few institutions and high-net-worth individuals, but is within reach of more ordinary investors."
Elio Cui, Head of BIT Securities.
The companies involved
BIT is a digital asset financial services group that operates as the parent entity for several specialized subsidiaries, including the newly rebranded BIT Securities. The group focuses on bridging the gap between decentralized finance and traditional equity markets. Its securities operations are structured through Matrix Gelephu Pte. Ltd., which is a wholly owned subsidiary licensed by the Gelephu Financial Services Office (GFSO) in the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), Bhutan.
The platform relies on Atomic Vaults Asia for critical infrastructure. Atomic Vaults Asia is a broker licensed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for Type 1 regulated activity, specifically dealing in securities. This partnership ensures that while BIT provides the front-end interface and digital asset integration, the underlying trade execution and custody of Hong Kong stocks meet local regulatory standards. Under this arrangement, users maintain status as the beneficial owners of the Hong Kong-listed shares they purchase. This multi-jurisdictional approach allows BIT to offer institutional-grade standards while maintaining the flexibility of a digital-first financial platform.

What this means
The launch of BIT Securities’ Hong Kong offering signals a maturing phase for digital asset platforms seeking to become "everything apps" for finance. By removing the friction of currency conversion and bank account requirements, BIT is directly challenging traditional retail brokerages that have been slow to integrate stablecoin rails. This move puts pressure on legacy brokers in the APAC region to modernize their settlement processes. The industry must now consider whether the convenience of 24/7 stablecoin-based funding will outweigh the perceived risks of using offshore-licensed platforms for onshore assets. It raises a critical question: will regulatory bodies eventually mandate that all cross-border equity trading adopts similar near-instant settlement capabilities?
