Infront has integrated agentic automation into its Assetmax and Infront Portfolio Manager systems through a strategic partnership with Swiss firm Unplex. This launch of the Infront AI Workspace allows wealth managers to automate high-friction administrative tasks, such as report drafting and statement processing, while maintaining strict regulatory compliance through human-in-the-loop oversight.

What was announced

The partnership introduces the Infront AI Workspace, a specialized add-on designed to enhance Infront’s existing portfolio management ecosystem. The solution is specifically built for wealth managers who are currently navigating a landscape of increasing operational and documentation requirements. By utilizing agentic automation, the system can autonomously handle complex tasks including the preparation for client meetings, the processing of various bank statements, and the drafting of comprehensive client reports.

Technologically, the Infront AI Workspace connects to Assetmax and Infront Portfolio Manager via dedicated API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations. These AI agents are programmed to execute defined workflows using the specific data held within the portfolio systems, such as client records, investment mandates, current positions, transactions, and historical performance metrics. Crucially, the portfolio management system remains the sole system of record; the AI agents do not have the authority to execute transactions independently.

To meet the stringent governance standards of the financial sector, the solution operates under a "review and approve" model. Every output generated by the AI must be verified by a staff member, and every action taken by the agents is documented in a full audit trail. The infrastructure is hosted in Switzerland, with all data processing confined to Switzerland and the European Economic Area (EEA). Furthermore, Unplex maintains ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification to ensure information security standards are met. While the solution has already been deployed to an initial group of users, Infront has confirmed that additional clients are currently being onboarded.

"The wealth management industry is built on trust and relationships, which is where wealth managers’ time and expertise add the most value," said Enrique Sacau, Infront CEO. "With AI agents working in the portfolio systems they rely on, firms can make their data work harder with much less manual effort, while maintaining full control. That is why we are building AI into solutions across all our business lines."

The companies involved

Infront is a major European financial data and technology provider that offers a suite of solutions for wealth management, including the Assetmax and Infront Portfolio Manager platforms. The company, which operates the website infrontfinance.com, serves as a primary infrastructure provider for asset managers and financial advisors across Europe, focusing on the integration of market data with portfolio management workflows. By providing the underlying systems of record for these firms, Infront occupies a central role in the daily operations of the European wealth management market.

Unplex is a Switzerland-based technology firm that specializes in providing agentic automation for regulated industries. The company’s core focus is on developing AI technology that can operate within the "clear rules" and strict governance frameworks required by financial institutions. Unplex is certified to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, which is a critical requirement for vendors handling sensitive financial data. Through this partnership, Unplex’s automation technology is being utilized by leading asset and wealth managers across Europe, integrated directly into the systems they use for daily portfolio oversight.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has previously tracked Infront’s efforts to expand its data distribution capabilities and its history of integrating specialized third-party technology to meet client demand. In September 2026, we reported that Infront Named Among First Distributors of EU Consolidated Tape for Shares and ETFs, a move that solidified the company’s position as a key distributor of transparent market data in Europe. This followed a pattern of strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing their portfolio management tools. For instance, in early 2023, the firm deepened its focus on specialized data sets, as detailed in Infront Extends Clarity AI Partnership in Response to Pivotal Demand for ESG Insights. That partnership was driven by the urgent need for wealth managers to access ESG analytics, mirroring the current move to integrate agentic AI to solve operational bottlenecks.

What this means

The transition from general-purpose AI chatbots to "agentic" automation marks a significant shift in the wealth management tech stack. By allowing AI to execute specific workflows within a governed environment, Infront is addressing the "productivity wall" created by rising regulatory and documentation burdens. This announcement places immediate pressure on legacy portfolio management system providers who have yet to offer deep, native AI integrations that respect data sovereignty. The decision to host data exclusively in Switzerland and the EEA is a strategic move to alleviate industry anxieties regarding privacy and the "black box" nature of global AI models. The ultimate success of this approach will depend on whether these agents can maintain high accuracy across non-standardized data sets without increasing the oversight burden on human managers.
