Nexedge Capital has secured USD 20 million in primary capital to scale its wealth management and multi-family office operations across India. For fintech professionals, this funding signals a significant institutional bet on the "net-worth management" model, targeting the rapidly expanding pool of Indian HNIs and UHNIs through a combination of high-touch advisory and aggressive technological expansion.

What was announced

Nexedge Capital, founded in February 2025, announced the successful raise of USD 20 million in a funding round led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Elev8 Venture Partners. The capital injection is earmarked for several strategic initiatives, including the strengthening of the firm’s proprietary technology platform and the expansion of its senior banker network. Geographically, the firm intends to extend its footprint beyond major metros into tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India.

The firm currently manages over $3 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM), achieved within 18 months of its launch. Serving approximately 1,300+ clients, Nexedge provides an end-to-end ecosystem covering financial investments, estate planning, portfolio management, and global mobility. The new funding will also support the development of complementary business lines, such as a dedicated Non-Resident Indian (NRI) proposition and a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) business. To date, the firm has onboarded more than 95 senior bankers, with plans to add another 50-60 professionals during 2026.

"Our maiden raise marks an important milestone in Nexedge's journey. The confidence shown by our institutional investors reinforces our belief that this is a rare opportunity to build India's first true Net-Worth Management firm, one that manages the entirety of a family's balance sheet rather than only its investible surplus. This capital gives us the ability to accelerate our banker onboarding, deepen distribution across the country, and offer our conflict-free Net Worth advisory to more families."

The companies involved

Nexedge Capital is a wealth management and multi-family office firm headquartered in India. It was established by Anirudha Taparia, who previously served as Co-Founder and Joint CEO of 360 ONE Wealth. The leadership team includes co-founders Sidhartha Shaw, Vijeeta Sharma, and Pankaj Walia, supported by a group of 15 founding partners with extensive backgrounds at institutions such as Citibank, Kotak Wealth, and Standard Chartered. A defining feature of the firm’s corporate structure is its ownership model, where over 150 senior leaders have invested their own capital into the business.

Mirae Asset Venture Investment is part of the broader Mirae Asset Global Investments group, a major player in the global financial services market. Elev8 Venture Partners is a growth-stage fund that focuses on scaling technology-driven businesses. The involvement of these institutional backers highlights the market's appetite for platforms that can bridge the gap between traditional private banking and modern, tech-enabled wealth management.

What this means

This funding round places significant pressure on traditional private banks in India. By moving toward a "net-worth management" model—which looks at the total balance sheet rather than just liquid assets—Nexedge is challenging the commission-heavy, product-pushing culture that has historically dominated the sector. The high level of employee equity participation suggests a shift toward a partnership-led model, similar to global private equity firms, which may force competitors to rethink their compensation and retention strategies to prevent talent drain. The industry must now ask whether the rapid scaling of AUM can be maintained without diluting the bespoke nature of multi-family office services as firms move into tier 2 and 3 markets.
