STARTRADER has significantly expanded its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) offering, adding 30 new U.S. stock and ETF CFDs focused on high-growth sectors like quantum computing and space technology. For fintech professionals, this move signals a deepening of the retail CFD market into niche, institutional-grade themes, reflecting a shift in trader appetite toward specialized innovation sectors.

What was announced

On 24 August, STARTRADER officially expanded its product range by introducing 30 new instruments to its MT5 platform. The additions target eight specific technological and industrial themes, providing traders with exposure to companies involved in quantum computing, software infrastructure, and advanced energy. The quantum computing segment includes IONQ, QBTS, QUBT, ARQQ, and QMCO, while software infrastructure additions feature ZS, S, RBRK, and GTLB.

The expansion also moves into space and defense through LUNR, PL, RCAT, and BKSY, alongside nuclear and energy themes represented by XE and NNE. Further additions include AI and semiconductor firms SERV and POET, asset management via VCX, and cloud/DevOps through DOCN and FROG. Rounding out the list are fintech and communications firms such as FUTU, ONDS, OUST, VSAT, LASR, AEHR, UCTT, and GSAT, as well as two thematic ETFs, DXYZ and NASA.

These instruments are available with 1:5 leverage and trade sizes ranging from 0.1 to 1,000 lots. Trading hours are set from Monday to Friday, 16:30–23:00 GMT+3. The company noted that availability is subject to account type, client classification, and specific jurisdictional regulations. This launch follows a period of rapid development in 2026, during which the firm introduced over 330 instruments and launched a 24/7 gold CFD (XAUUSD247).

"The latest release reflects STARTRADER's pillars of Strength, Trust, Ambition and Resilience through broader choice, continuous innovation and an offering designed to adapt with clients and markets."

STARTRADER

The companies involved

STARTRADER is a global brokerage firm operating in the CFD and online trading space. The company focuses on providing multi-asset trading capabilities through the MetaTrader 5 platform, emphasizing a core philosophy of resilience and innovation. Its market position is defined by a rapid expansion of tradable instruments, particularly those linked to emerging technology sectors.

Among the companies now available as CFDs through STARTRADER is Lunr (Lunr Capital), a firm operating in the space and defense sector. Another notable addition is Futu, a significant player in the digital brokerage and fintech space. The inclusion of specialized entities like IONQ and QBTS highlights the broker's focus on the burgeoning quantum computing market. These companies represent a mix of established technology infrastructure and speculative innovation, allowing STARTRADER to cater to a diverse range of retail and professional trading strategies within the U.S. equities market.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed STARTRADER's aggressive product expansion throughout 2026. In June, we covered how STARTRADER Debuts Pre-IPO CFD Trading for AI Giants OpenAI and Anthropic, a move that brought high-interest private valuations to the CFD market. This was followed in July by the report that STARTRADER Launches 24/7 US Stock CFDs for NVIDIA, Apple, and Meta to Eliminate Trading Time Constraints. Most recently, the firm continued its focus on emerging tech as STARTRADER Expands AI Portfolio with 31 New US Share and ETF CFDs, underscoring a consistent strategy of thematic asset growth.

What this means

This announcement highlights an intensifying arms race among retail brokerages to provide granular access to specialized sectors. By moving beyond "Big Tech" into quantum computing and space defense, STARTRADER is putting pressure on traditional platforms that rely on a more static list of blue-chip equities. The inclusion of thematic ETFs like DXYZ and NASA suggests that retail demand is shifting from individual stock picking toward broader "innovation" narratives.

For the wider industry, this raises questions about risk management and education. As brokers offer higher leverage on increasingly volatile, niche technology stocks, the burden of ensuring client suitability grows. The market is clearly moving toward a 24/7, all-access model where the distinction between retail and institutional asset availability continues to blur.
