OKX UAE Unlocks 24/7 Access to Tokenized U.S. Stocks for Local Investors
By Lauren Towner · 12 October 2026

OKX UAE has expanded its real-world asset (RWA) offering by launching tokenized U.S. stocks for users in the United Arab Emirates. This move bridges traditional equity markets with onchain infrastructure, allowing fintech professionals to observe how regulated digital asset platforms are increasingly competing with traditional brokerages by offering 24/7 fractional trading of global blue-chip companies.
What was announced
OKX UAE, which operates under the regulation of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai, is introducing price exposure to more than 80 tokenized stocks. The selection includes high-profile technology and artificial intelligence firms, allowing users to manage these traditional market exposures within the same account used for digital assets. The service is scheduled to become available to eligible users starting 12 October 2026.
A primary differentiator of this offering is the removal of traditional market hours; the tokenized stocks can be traded 24/7, including weekends. This provides a level of liquidity and access not typically found in standard equity markets. Furthermore, the platform supports fractional positions, enabling users to gain exposure to expensive shares without needing to purchase the equivalent of a full share.
To facilitate ease of use within the local market, OKX UAE has integrated with domestic banking infrastructure. Users can connect an account with any UAE bank account to the platform for near-instant AED deposits and withdrawals. The company has also confirmed that there will be zero fees associated with these AED transactions. While the initial rollout covers 80 stocks, the availability of specific assets, supported networks, and onchain transfers may vary based on eligibility and technical factors.
"The UAE has built one of the world’s most forward-looking environments for digital assets," said Rifad Mahasneh, CEO of OKX MENA & CIS. "That creates a strong foundation for the next phase of onchain finance, and we want to play our part in supporting the continued development of the UAE's digital finance ecosystem. Real-world assets are a big part of that next phase. By bringing exposure to leading U.S. companies and major indices onchain through tokenized stocks, we're showing traditional investors how crypto-native infrastructure can enable 24/7 trading, and a more flexible way to access global markets. Combined with local AED funding and crypto in the same app, this is what we mean by One App. Every Market."

The companies involved
OKX UAE is the regional arm of OKX, a global fintech and digital asset firm. The entity operates within the United Arab Emirates under a regulatory framework provided by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the dedicated regulator for the sector in Dubai. This local presence is part of a broader global footprint for OKX, which has established itself as a major player in the cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 technology space.
The leadership for the region is headed by Rifad Mahasneh, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer - MENA for OKX. Under this leadership, the firm has focused on integrating digital asset services with local financial systems, such as the direct AED banking rails mentioned in the announcement. By positioning itself as a regulated entity in Dubai, OKX UAE occupies a strategic role in the Middle East's growing fintech corridor, competing with both native crypto exchanges and traditional financial institutions that are beginning to explore blockchain-based asset representation. The company’s move into Real-World Assets (RWAs) signals an attempt to consolidate various financial services into a single digital interface.
What this means
This launch intensifies the pressure on traditional retail brokerages in the Middle East. By offering 24/7 trading for U.S. equities—a market traditionally bound by strict opening hours and time-zone delays—OKX is leveraging blockchain infrastructure to solve a legacy friction point. The industry is watching closely to see if tokenization can move beyond a niche crypto trend into a mainstream vehicle for equity ownership. However, the success of this model hinges on sustained regulatory clarity. While VARA provides a robust framework, the broader sector faces questions about how these onchain representations of stocks will interact with traditional clearing and settlement systems in the long term.
