Gen II Digitizes Private Fund Secondary Transfers with New Funded® Module
By Lauren Towner · 20 October 2026

Gen II Fund Services has launched Funded Partner Transfers, a digital module designed to automate the secondary transfer process for private capital funds. By digitizing a historically paper-heavy workflow, the tool aims to reduce transaction costs and administrative friction for fund sponsors and investors, addressing a significant bottleneck in private market liquidity.
What was announced
Gen II introduced the Funded Partner Transfers module as an expansion of its Funded digital subscription platform. The tool is specifically designed to handle secondary transfers, which typically involve complex manual documentation and lengthy review periods. The module integrates fund sponsors, legal counsel, and transfer parties into a single digital environment to manage the end-to-end transfer lifecycle.
The platform features a guided, self-service workflow where transferees can submit data and supporting documentation directly. Investors with existing profiles on the platform can utilize an "investor passport" feature to pre-fill documentation, while transferors can execute agreements via integrated Docusign functionality. The system provides real-time status tracking for all stakeholders, from the initial submission through to final approval.
Funded is a component of Gen II’s Sensr Solutions suite. To date, the platform has facilitated over $575 billion in capital raises across more than 50,000 subscriptions and 3,250 fund closings. The new Partner Transfers module is scheduled for release in November 2026 and will be available to both new and existing clients of the Funded platform.
The companies involved
Gen II Fund Services, LLC is a prominent independent private capital fund administrator. The firm provides specialized services to the private equity industry, focusing on fund administration, accounting, and reporting. Operating in a market where institutional investors increasingly demand transparency and rapid data access, Gen II has positioned itself as a technology-forward service provider for alternative asset managers.
The company’s Sensr Solutions suite represents its primary technological offering, aimed at streamlining the lifecycle of private fund management. Gen II manages a wide range of fund structures, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit funds. By focusing on the Funded platform, the company addresses the front-end investor onboarding and subscription process, which is often a point of friction in fund operations. As an independent administrator, Gen II competes in a landscape that includes both bank-owned administrators and other specialized independent firms, leveraging its proprietary technology to differentiate its service delivery in the global private markets.
What FF News has reported before
FF News recently covered Gen II’s expansion of its technological capabilities within the private markets sector. In September 2026, the firm announced the launch of Gen II Launches SensrAI to Transform Private Markets Performance Analytics. That development saw the integration of purpose-built artificial intelligence into the Sensr analytics platform, aimed at enhancing performance data and reporting for fund managers. This previous reporting highlights Gen II's ongoing strategy of embedding advanced digital tools into its Sensr Solutions suite to address data complexity and operational efficiency in the alternative investment space.
What this means
The move to digitize secondary transfers reflects a broader industry push toward liquidity in private markets. Historically, the "paperwork tax" on secondary transactions has acted as a deterrent for smaller transfers and a significant administrative burden for large-scale rebalancing. By automating this, Gen II is putting pressure on traditional administrators who still rely on manual PDF exchanges and email chains. The inclusion of an "investor passport" is particularly significant, as it signals a shift toward reusable KYC and AML data, a long-held goal for fintech. The success of this module will likely depend on whether legal counsel accepts standardized digital workflows over bespoke documentation.
