Gen II Fund Services has relocated Director Raul Ramos to Guernsey to lead its private equity fund services, a move that signals the firm's intent to capture growing demand in the jurisdiction. For fintech and fund administration professionals, this highlights the ongoing consolidation of senior expertise across the Channel Islands as firms scale their regulated service offerings.

What was announced

Gen II Fund Services has appointed Raul Ramos as Head of Private Equity Fund Services in Guernsey, relocating him from the firm’s Jersey office. Ramos, who has been a Director at Gen II since 2022, brings over two decades of experience in fund services, accounting, and audit. His career includes more than ten years within the Channel Islands, having previously held senior roles at various fund administration firms in Jersey and spending over six years at Intertrust Group, where he rose to the position of Associate Director.

The relocation follows Gen II’s recent expansion in Guernsey, where the firm secured licenses from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. These licenses allow Gen II to provide fund administration services for Guernsey-domiciled private market structures, a move made in response to increasing demand from asset managers. Ramos originally joined Gen II through its acquisition of Crestbridge, where he served as Director, Funds. His professional background also includes a tenure at SGV & Co. in the Philippines and nearly six years at Ernst & Young. The relocation was finalized in August 2026, positioning Ramos to lead the Guernsey team as the firm seeks to deepen its connection between its Jersey and Guernsey operations.

"Raul is a highly experienced fund services professional who already knows Gen II, our clients and the Channel Islands extremely well. Bringing that experience into our Guernsey business is a natural next step as we continue to develop the team supporting managers in the jurisdiction."

The companies involved

Gen II Fund Services is a global provider of private capital fund administration, managing a significant volume of assets for private equity, credit, and real estate funds. The company has established itself as a major player in the private markets through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, most notably the purchase of Crestbridge. This acquisition significantly bolstered Gen II’s presence in the European market and the Channel Islands, integrating Crestbridge’s established fund services infrastructure into Gen II’s global platform. Prior to this integration, Crestbridge was a well-known name in the fiduciary and fund administration space.

Operating out of key financial hubs, Gen II focuses on delivering high-touch service combined with proprietary technology to handle the complex reporting and regulatory requirements of private fund managers. The firm’s expansion into Guernsey represents a strategic effort to provide a seamless service across the two primary Channel Island jurisdictions, which are critical hubs for international private equity structures. By securing local licenses and placing senior leadership on the ground, Gen II competes directly with other global administrators for the growing pool of private capital domiciled in the region.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has tracked Gen II’s recent technological advancements in the private markets sector. In October 2026, the firm introduced the Gen II Digitizes Private Fund Secondary Transfers with New Funded® Module, which aimed to streamline the often-cumbersome process of partner transfers. This followed the September 2026 launch of Gen II Launches SensrAI to Transform Private Markets Performance Analytics. These reports highlight Gen II’s strategy of integrating artificial intelligence and digital modules into its Sensr analytics platform to improve data transparency and performance tracking for fund managers.

What this means

This leadership move underscores the intensifying competition between Jersey and Guernsey for private equity dominance. As regulatory requirements for fund administrators become more stringent, the ability to offer senior expertise across both jurisdictions is becoming a baseline requirement rather than a luxury. Gen II’s decision to move a proven director from Jersey to Guernsey suggests that the firm sees Guernsey as a high-growth area that requires more than just a satellite presence. It puts pressure on smaller, single-jurisdiction administrators who may struggle to match the cross-border mobility and integrated technology stack of a global player like Gen II. The focus now shifts to how effectively these firms can harmonize operations across the Channel Islands while maintaining local regulatory compliance.
