Trading Technologies Expands Institutional Digital Asset Access Through Bitstamp by Robinhood
By Effie Foxtrot · 2 November 2026

Trading Technologies (TT) has integrated Bitstamp by Robinhood’s digital asset markets into its multi-asset platform. This move allows institutional traders to manage crypto spot and derivatives alongside traditional assets like futures and FX, addressing the growing demand for unified risk controls and execution workflows within a single institutional-grade environment.
What was announced
The integration allows institutional market participants to access Bitstamp by Robinhood’s crypto spot and derivatives markets directly through the TT platform. This connection places digital assets alongside established asset classes, including futures, fixed income, and foreign exchange (FX), within TT’s multi-asset environment. The partnership specifically targets firms expanding their digital asset operations in high-growth regions, notably the Asia-Pacific and North America markets, though availability remains subject to local regulations.
By establishing this direct link, TT becomes the first major traditional-markets order/execution management system (O/EMS) to connect to Bitstamp by Robinhood. For Bitstamp, the move expands its reach beyond crypto-native trading platforms and into the daily workflows of sophisticated institutional traders and proprietary desks. The integration is designed to deliver institutional-grade risk controls and unified post-trade workflows, allowing firms to manage execution across disparate asset classes from a single interface. Beyond the technical integration, the two entities have committed to collaborating on joint educational initiatives and industry events to further encourage institutional adoption of digital asset markets.
"Institutional trading desks want to access digital assets through TT with the execution tools, connectivity, workflows and risk controls they already use across other TradFi markets. Our integration with Bitstamp by Robinhood brings crypto-native spot and perpetual futures liquidity directly into the TT workflow alongside crypto derivatives, enabling clients to manage execution across asset classes from a single, familiar environment while maintaining the execution, risk management and operational efficiencies they rely on across their broader trading operations."

The companies involved
Trading Technologies (TT) is a Chicago-based global provider of capital markets technology. The firm is owned by 7RIDGE, a specialized growth equity firm. TT has historically focused on providing high-performance professional trading software, connectivity, and data solutions for a wide range of users, including proprietary traders, brokers, money managers, and CTAs. Its platform is a staple in the futures and derivatives markets, known for its low-latency execution and robust risk management tools.
Bitstamp by Robinhood represents the institutional-facing crypto exchange operations under the Robinhood umbrella. Bitstamp is recognized as one of the world's longest-running cryptocurrency exchanges, having established a reputation for reliability and regulatory compliance in a sector often characterized by volatility. By aligning with Trading Technologies, Bitstamp moves deeper into the traditional finance (TradFi) ecosystem, positioning its deep liquidity and institutional execution services within the primary daily workflows of global market participants. This partnership highlights the ongoing convergence of retail-focused fintech giants and established institutional infrastructure providers.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely tracked Trading Technologies’ aggressive expansion into multi-asset coverage and data services. In September 2026, the firm announced it would acquire TRAFiX to bolster its position as a global multi-asset trading powerhouse. This followed the appointment of Katie Price to lead a newly unified data, analytics, and compliance division. TT has also been active in diversifying its asset classes, recently expanding into prediction markets and crypto derivatives through partnerships with OG.com and Crypto.com. These moves align with findings from a Trading Technologies study which revealed that FX traders are increasingly demanding EMS consolidation to achieve unified risk management across their portfolios.
What this means
This integration signals that the era of "swivel-chair" trading—where institutional desks must toggle between different platforms for crypto and traditional assets—is rapidly ending. By embedding Bitstamp’s liquidity directly into a major O/EMS like TT, the industry is acknowledging that crypto is no longer a peripheral experiment but a core component of a modern multi-asset portfolio. This puts significant pressure on crypto-native exchanges that lack deep TradFi connectivity, as institutional flow will naturally gravitate toward platforms that offer the best workflow efficiency and risk oversight. The move also raises questions about whether other major O/EMS providers will be forced to accelerate their own direct crypto integrations to remain competitive.
