Ripple and Robinhood Partner to Integrate RLUSD Stablecoin and Automate Global Treasury Operations
By Lauren Towner · 28 October 2026

Ripple and Robinhood have entered a strategic partnership to integrate Ripple’s blockchain infrastructure across Robinhood’s consumer and institutional platforms. For fintech professionals, this marks a significant move toward embedding stablecoins into core financial operations, as Robinhood adopts Ripple USD (RLUSD) for institutional settlement and modernizes its global treasury management using Ripple’s technology.
What was announced
The partnership provides Robinhood with a single entry point to Ripple’s infrastructure, focusing on stablecoins, institutional markets, and treasury management. A central component of the deal is the integration of Ripple USD (RLUSD), an enterprise-grade stablecoin. RLUSD is currently live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with availability in the main Robinhood app expected later this year. Robinhood will utilize RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to facilitate institutional settlement, specifically supporting the growing institutional business at Bitstamp by Robinhood.
Beyond customer-facing products, Robinhood is integrating Ripple Treasury to automate its internal financial operations. This includes cash and liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, payments, risk management, and intercompany netting. The collaboration also extends to institutional financing through Ripple Prime. This service provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across approximately 20 digital assets. Furthermore, Ripple Prime clients will gain access to spot trading on Bitstamp, with support for perpetual futures trading expected to follow later in the year.
The scale of the partnership is underscored by the reach of both entities. Robinhood currently serves 28.6 million funded customers globally. Meanwhile, RLUSD has reached a market capitalization of more than $2.4 billion since its launch in December 2024, reflecting the rapid growth of the stablecoin market, which now exceeds $300 billion in total supply.

Robinhood is a global financial services leader that has expanded from its retail brokerage roots into a comprehensive digital asset ecosystem. This expansion was bolstered by the acquisition of Bitstamp, which now operates as Bitstamp by Robinhood. Bitstamp is a long-standing cryptocurrency exchange that provides the institutional backbone for Robinhood’s digital asset strategy. Together, these companies represent a convergence of retail-focused financial technology and institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure. Robinhood’s platform now supports tens of millions of users, while Bitstamp brings a legacy of institutional liquidity and regulatory compliance to the partnership.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Ripple’s efforts to integrate its RLUSD stablecoin into the broader financial ecosystem. Recently, the publication covered how Cross River and Ripple Partner to Integrate RLUSD Stablecoin into Core Banking Infrastructure, highlighting the asset's move into regulated banking. Ripple has also been active in the institutional space, as seen when Ripple and BNY Expand Digital Asset Alliance to Modernize Tokenized Trade Finance. Additionally, the company’s focus on infrastructure was evident in the report that DriveWealth and Ripple Partner to Launch Blockchain-Powered Global Investing Rails. These developments demonstrate a consistent strategy of embedding Ripple's technology into both retail and institutional financial frameworks.
What this means
This announcement signals that stablecoins are moving past their initial role as speculative trading tools and are becoming fundamental to corporate treasury and settlement. By adopting RLUSD for its own internal operations, Robinhood is validating the efficiency of blockchain-based liquidity management over traditional banking rails. This move puts pressure on established stablecoin issuers to prove their utility beyond simple value storage. Furthermore, the integration of treasury management and institutional lending suggests that the distinction between "crypto" and "traditional" finance is continuing to erode. The industry must now consider whether legacy treasury systems can remain competitive against the speed and automation offered by these integrated blockchain solutions.
