Murex has launched a native connection between its MX.3 platform and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) Consolidated Feed, enabling real-time market data streaming for capital markets participants. This integration reduces technical friction for sell-side and buy-side institutions, allowing them to ingest normalized global data directly into their existing risk management and trading workflows without custom middleware.

What was announced

Murex has introduced a new connectivity interface, designated as IDS-CF-MD (ICE Data Services – Consolidated Feed – Market Data), to facilitate a direct link between its flagship MX.3 platform and ICE’s real-time data streams. Starting with MX.3 version 3.1.68, users can access the ICE Consolidated Feed to receive streaming market data seamlessly. This development builds upon a collaboration that began in September 2022, during which Murex progressively integrated several ICE data products into its ecosystem.

These prior integrations include DataX On-Demand for interest rate and inflation curves, swaption and caplet volatilities, as well as ICE CDS single name and Index market data for credit curves, and ICE fixed-income market data for bond curves. The new connectivity is delivered via the MX.3 Market Data Interface Tool and is already in use by several major financial institutions. While the integration provides flexibility in data management, full implementation of the streaming feed within MX.3 requires the use of Murex’s Entitlement SPI to connect to a chosen entitlement system. Alternatively, clients can utilize native entitlement systems already supported within the platform, such as the Real-Time Data Access Control System (DACs). The feed itself provides normalized content from global marketplaces and third-party providers, covering multiple asset classes for market participants globally.

"ICE’s Consolidated Feed offers access to content from global marketplaces and third-party providers in a normalized format, delivering multi-asset data and analytics solutions for market participants around the world."

The companies involved

Murex is a global provider of trading, risk management, and post-trade solutions specifically designed for capital markets. Its MX.3 platform serves as a cross-asset technology foundation for a wide range of financial institutions, helping them manage market evolution and regulatory requirements. The company has established a significant footprint in the fintech sector, with its technology often acting as the core engine for complex financial operations across the sell-side and buy-side.

Intercontinental Exchange, commonly known as ICE, is a major operator of global exchanges and clearing houses, providing data, technology, and mortgage services. The company is the parent organization of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), though its reach extends deep into fixed income and data services through its ICE Data Services arm. ICE’s infrastructure supports the trading of various asset classes, including energy, interest rates, equities, and currencies. By providing normalized data feeds, ICE enables market participants to access a consolidated view of global liquidity and pricing, which is critical for the high-stakes environment of modern electronic trading and risk oversight.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed the strategic moves of both Murex and ICE as they expand their digital infrastructure. Recently, Murex entered a significant collaboration to modernize capital markets technology, as seen in Murex and Google Cloud Partner to Accelerate Capital Markets Cloud Transformation. Meanwhile, ICE’s broader ecosystem has been active in expanding global market access and infrastructure. This includes the New York Stock Exchange’s efforts to bridge international markets, reported in NYSE and Korea Exchange Sign MOU to Expand Global Capital Market Access, and the physical expansion of its operations through the NYSE Texas Opens Dallas Headquarters to Support Over $2 Trillion Market Cap. Additionally, ICE has been involved in the evolution of digital assets, notably through its investment in tZERO Secures Strategic Funding to Scale Tokenized Securities Infrastructure.

What this means

The native integration of ICE’s consolidated feed into MX.3 reflects a broader industry shift toward reducing the "integration tax" that plagues capital markets. As volatility increases, the speed at which a platform can ingest and process normalized data becomes a competitive differentiator. This move puts pressure on smaller data vendors who lack the deep, pre-built integration with dominant platforms like Murex. For the sector, the focus is now on whether other major risk platforms will follow suit or if proprietary data silos will continue to hinder real-time transparency. The success of this partnership raises questions about the future necessity of third-party data aggregators in highly integrated environments.
