Multiliquid Secures $8 Million Seed Round Led by Polychain to Unlock Institutional Tokenized Asset Liquidity
By Lauren Towner · 21 October 2026

Uniform Labs has secured $8 million in seed funding to scale Multiliquid, an institutional protocol addressing the liquidity gap in tokenized real-world assets. For fintech leaders, this signals a shift toward 24/7 atomic settlement, moving beyond the multi-day cycles that currently hinder the adoption of on-chain Treasuries and private credit.
What was announced
Uniform Labs closed its seed round led by Polychain, with participation from Strobe Ventures, CMT Digital, Metalayer Ventures, Generative Ventures, and Circle Ventures. The $8 million total funding will support Multiliquid, a protocol designed to provide the institutional plumbing necessary for tokenized assets to function as liquid capital. The platform acts as a neutral, compliance-first liquidity layer, enabling holders to swap blue-chip tokenized assets and stablecoins in a single atomic transaction.
This infrastructure addresses a specific friction point in the market: while tokenized assets like money market funds and Treasuries are a fast-growing frontier in digital finance, they are often hamstrung by traditional primary subscription and redemption cycles that take days to settle. Multiliquid provides 24/7 instant settlement, allowing institutions to rotate between yield-bearing investments and transactional stablecoins without balance-sheet drag. This is particularly relevant under federal frameworks like the GENIUS Act, which prohibits payment stablecoin issuers from paying yield directly to holders. The protocol already supports tokenized funds from premier asset managers including Wellington Management, VanEck, Janus Henderson, and Fasanara, alongside major stablecoins such as USDC.
The companies involved
Uniform Labs is the developer behind Multiliquid, founded by veterans with backgrounds at Standard Chartered and UniCredit. The firm positions itself as a bridge between traditional banking expertise and on-chain capital markets. Lead investor Polychain is a prominent venture firm in the digital asset space, joined by Circle Ventures, the investment arm of the company behind the USDC stablecoin. Other participants include CMT Digital, which has a significant track record in the sector with five previous appearances in FF News coverage, and Metalayer Ventures, Generative Ventures, and Strobe Ventures.
The involvement of Circle Ventures is notable given Multiliquid’s focus on providing programmatic rails between yield-bearing tokens and transactional stablecoins like USDC. The protocol’s focus on neutral, compliance-first infrastructure is aimed at attracting traditional asset managers who require regulated environments for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. By leveraging the experience of its founders in major European and global banking institutions, Uniform Labs aims to eliminate the settlement friction that currently prevents on-chain capital markets from scaling to institutional volumes.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed the development of institutional liquidity layers and stablecoin infrastructure. We recently reported on Fission Secures $10M Series A Led by Pantera Capital to Build Liquidity Layer for Tokenized Funds, which shares a similar focus on bringing liquidity to digital assets. Our coverage also includes Velocity Secures $10M Series A Extension from Visa and Ripple to Scale Stablecoin Infrastructure, highlighting the ongoing investment from players like Circle in the foundational rails of the ecosystem. Additionally, we covered how STS Digital Launches Smart Bitcoin to Solve Institutional Crypto Volatility, reflecting the broader market push to solve volatility and liquidity issues for institutional participants.
What this means
This announcement highlights a pivot in the tokenization narrative from asset creation to asset utility. The current bottleneck for real-world assets is not the technology of the token itself, but the inability to move in and out of positions with the speed of a traditional repo market. By providing atomic conversion, Multiliquid puts pressure on traditional settlement providers who still operate on T+1 or T+2 cycles. The industry must now answer whether these neutral liquidity layers can achieve enough depth to satisfy the massive balance sheets of the asset managers involved, especially as regulatory frameworks like the GENIUS Act force a separation between yield and payment instruments.
