Binance bStocks Hits $1 Billion AUM: The Rise of 24/7 Tokenized Equity Trading
By Lauren Towner · 16 October 2026

Binance's tokenized equity product, bStocks, has reached $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) just four months after its June 11, 2026 launch. This milestone marks bStocks as the fastest tokenized equity product to hit this threshold, signaling a significant shift in how digital asset traders interact with traditional U.S. securities through 24/7 on-chain settlement.
What was announced
The bStocks platform provides tokenized representations of U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, with each token fully backed 1:1 by the underlying security. Unlike many synthetic products, these tokens can be converted directly into the actual stock holdings rather than just their cash value. Since the June launch, the platform has seen more than $40 billion in cumulative trading volume, averaging over $300 million per day. The number of available assets has also expanded rapidly, growing from five at launch to nearly 100.
Data indicates that $6 billion has been converted between direct stock positions and bStocks at 1:1 parity, bypassing traditional broker transfer wait times. The utility of these assets is extending into decentralized finance (DeFi), where bStocks utilization reached 11.2% in early October, significantly higher than the rate for comparable tokenized equities. Furthermore, capital efficiency has increased as users leverage these assets; outstanding borrowing against bStocks collateral rose from 5.5% in late June to 46.2% by September 10, representing an 8.4-fold increase.
The demand for 24/7 trading is a primary driver of this growth. In July, only 38% of bStocks trading volume occurred during regular U.S. market hours, compared to nearly 90% for conventional equities. This shift coincides with a broader surge in the tokenized equity market, which became the fastest-growing real-world asset (RWA) category of 2026, with its total market capitalization quadrupling to over $3 billion by late September. Last month, Binance extended collateral support to retail traders, allowing them to use bStocks as margin for futures with up to 5x leverage.
"The test of a tokenized stock isn't the launch-day chart; it's whether it still behaves like a market after the launch. bStocks trade around the clock, get used as collateral, move between self-custodial wallets, and convert 1:1 into direct stock holdings. Today, more than a billion dollars of that is held on Binance, and it's being used, not just held."

The companies involved
Binance is a global leader in the cryptocurrency and blockchain infrastructure space, operating one of the world's largest digital asset exchanges by trading volume. The company has moved aggressively to integrate traditional financial instruments with on-chain technology, positioning itself at the center of the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization trend. By providing a bridge between legacy U.S. equity markets and the 24/7 crypto ecosystem, Binance is attempting to capture liquidity that typically remains locked within traditional brokerage hours and silos.
The firm has recently focused on expanding the utility of its ecosystem beyond simple spot trading. This includes the integration of bStocks as collateral for margin and futures trading, allowing retail users to build exposure with up to 5x leverage. This move places Binance in direct competition with both traditional retail brokerages and specialized crypto-native lending platforms. As the tokenized equity market grows, Binance’s role as a primary venue for both the issuance and secondary trading of these assets cements its influence over the evolving intersection of decentralized and centralized finance.

What this means
The rapid ascent of bStocks to $1 billion in AUM suggests that the "tokenization of everything" is moving past the theoretical stage into a high-velocity market reality. The fact that over 60% of trading occurs outside U.S. market hours puts immense pressure on traditional exchanges and brokerages that remain tethered to the 9-to-5 schedule. However, this shift raises serious questions about market stability and systemic risk. As equities are increasingly used as collateral in volatile DeFi environments, the potential for cross-market contagion grows. Regulators will likely view the 16x increase in on-chain transfers of tokenized stocks as a signal to accelerate oversight of these hybrid financial products.
