Waypoint and SEAD Software Launch AI-Powered Wayfinder for Market Data Management
By Lauren Towner · 6 October 2026

Waypoint Trading Solutions has launched Waypoint Wayfinder, an AI-powered market data management tool developed in partnership with SEAD Software. This solution addresses the critical operational risk of missing exchange notifications, which can lead to service disruptions and unexpected costs. For fintech professionals, it automates the interpretation of complex protocol and fee changes across global venues.
What was announced
Waypoint Wayfinder is an AI-powered solution designed to manage the constant stream of notifications from financial exchanges and market data vendors. Developed in partnership with SEAD Software, the platform specifically targets the operational burden of tracking changes to exchange protocols, new product launches, and fee structure adjustments. It is built to serve a wide range of clients, from small proprietary trading firms to large international banks.
The system works by augmenting Waypoint’s existing Data Notification Manager (DNM). It utilizes SEAD Software’s Co-Wright platform to ingest unstructured data—including emails, newsletters, and web pages—and convert them into standardized, actionable summaries. A key feature of the platform is the inclusion of a human review stage, where Waypoint’s team validates the AI-generated data before it is delivered to clients, ensuring a high standard of accuracy for mission-critical updates.
Functionally, Wayfinder provides a "single pane of glass" view for all notifications. Users can configure custom rules to filter for specific impacts, such as network-related changes, and track each notice through to resolution via integrated task management workflows. This centralized portal is intended to prevent service disruptions and unexpected license fee increases by ensuring that every notification is audited and actioned in a timely manner. The solution leverages Waypoint's global reach, which includes connectivity to more than 800 exchanges and service providers across 70 countries.
"Wayfinder is part of our strategic investment drive to develop software that really addresses the data management issues customers – from small prop firms to international banks – face daily. Our industry needs a simple and accurate way to manage numerous product, protocol and fee structure notifications and keep their commercial workflows up to date."
Jeff Mezger, VP of Product Management at Waypoint Trading Solutions.
The companies involved
Waypoint Trading Solutions is a business unit of Transaction Network Services (TNS), a global provider of data communications and interoperability solutions. Waypoint operates one of the most extensive trading ecosystems in the industry, providing infrastructure to over 1,000 financial institutions worldwide. Its network provides connectivity to more than 800 financial exchanges, venues, and service providers, spanning a geographic footprint of more than 70 countries. TNS itself is a long-standing player in the global connectivity space, supporting mission-critical environments for the financial markets.
The partnership for Wayfinder involves SEAD Software, a firm specializing in data structuring and automation. SEAD Software is led by President and CEO Alex Wright, who oversees the development of the Co-Wright platform. This technology is designed to filter and summarize unstructured notification data from various sources, a capability the firm applies across multiple industries to transform complex information into actionable data. By integrating SEAD’s AI-driven summarization with Waypoint’s established market data environment, the companies aim to simplify the complex landscape of vendor and exchange communications that has historically relied on manual oversight.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has previously covered the technological evolution and leadership changes within the TNS and Waypoint ecosystem. In September 2026, we reported on a similar move to streamline administrative burdens in Waypoint Trading Solutions Debuts Archon to Automate Market Data Entitlement Management. This followed our coverage of the firm’s infrastructure expansion, specifically when Waypoint Trading Solutions Secures Day-One Connectivity to the New Texas Stock Exchange in June 2026. Beyond product launches, FF News also tracked significant corporate developments at the parent company level, such as when TNS Names Michael Johnson as Global Managing Director to Lead Payments Market Growth. These reports underscore a period of sustained activity for the group as it expands both its connectivity footprint and its software-as-a-service offerings.
What this means
The introduction of Wayfinder signals a maturing of AI applications in the back and middle office of financial services. While much of the industry's focus has been on generative AI for client-facing roles or predictive AI for alpha generation, the application of machine learning to the "unstructured mess" of exchange notifications addresses a significant source of operational risk. This move puts pressure on traditional market data vendors who have historically left the burden of notification tracking to the end-user. The industry must now grapple with whether these automated, AI-augmented workflows will become a baseline requirement for regulatory compliance and cost control, or remain a premium feature for the largest institutions.
