Press Release: Arcesium and MarketAxess Deepen Integration to Modernize Fixed Income Workflows | Featured Image by FF News

Arcesium has integrated MarketAxess’s CP+ and TraX market data into its Aquata and Opterra platforms, streamlining fixed income workflows for hedge funds and asset managers. This move addresses the critical need for unified pricing and liquidity data within core operational environments, allowing firms to manage the entire trade lifecycle more effectively without the burden of custom integration efforts.

What was announced

The integration embeds MarketAxess’ proprietary pricing, liquidity, and transaction data directly into Arcesium’s operational ecosystem. MarketAxess CP+ functions as an AI-powered algorithmic pricing engine specifically designed for global credit and rates markets. Meanwhile, MarketAxess TraX provides daily trade volumes and transactional data for more than 42,000 global fixed income instruments. By combining these datasets, mutual clients can conduct liquidity analysis, price discovery, and risk analytics within a single view, connecting front-to-back workflows to improve data accuracy across investment and operational processes.

Furthermore, the partnership extends to the repo market. Since June 2024, Arcesium has been integrated with MarketAxess Repo Match. Through this specific integration, Arcesium submits Opterra clients’ repo trades directly to Repo Match for trade-date matching against counterparty confirmations. The system handles lifecycle events such as re-rates and close-outs, supporting straight-through processing and earlier exception resolution. Currently, Repo Match connects 127 buy-side and sell-side firms, processing over US$700 billion in matched average daily volume. This connectivity ensures that books and records are updated automatically, reducing the manual overhead typically associated with fixed income operations and ensuring a reliable source of truth for trading teams.

"Fixed income markets can be dynamic, one market movement can have a ripple effect across portfolios. Having more data is only valuable if firms can lean on market intelligence and operational context across one view in order to make better decisions. Our integration with MarketAxess provides fixed income teams rich market data and clean operational data in one place, allowing firms to act on pricing and liquidity signals within their core operating environment."

The companies involved

Arcesium is a global financial technology provider focused on the investment industry, offering platforms designed to manage complex post-trade operations and data. The firm has established itself as a key player for hedge funds and institutional managers seeking to modernize their middle- and back-office infrastructure. Arcesium’s suite, including the Aquata and Opterra platforms, aims to provide a unified data environment that reduces operational risk and improves transparency for sophisticated market participants. The company has a significant footprint in the fintech space, frequently expanding its capabilities through both internal development and strategic acquisitions.

MarketAxess Holdings Inc., traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker MKTX, operates a leading electronic trading platform for fixed income securities. Its proprietary data products, such as CP+ and TraX, are widely utilized by market participants to navigate the complexities of global credit and rates markets. By facilitating electronic trading and providing comprehensive market data, MarketAxess plays a central role in the evolution of fixed income market structure, connecting a vast network of institutional investors and broker-dealers across the globe.

What FF News has reported before

FF News has closely followed Arcesium’s expansion through strategic partnerships and leadership changes. In September 2026, the company named Brian Rosenberg as President to drive global revenue and its agentic AI strategy. Earlier that year, Arcesium expanded its reach into private markets through a technology integration with Hypercore for private credit lifecycle management. The firm’s client base has also grown, with Feynman Point Asset Management selecting Arcesium for reconciliation across digital and traditional assets in April 2026. This followed a major move in February 2026, when Arcesium acquired Limina to deliver a unified front-to-back investment platform, signaling a clear intent to consolidate the investment technology stack.

What this means

This integration highlights the intensifying pressure on legacy financial technology providers to offer more than just siloed data storage. In an era of heightened volatility, the ability to merge real-time pricing with operational workflows is becoming a baseline requirement rather than a luxury. The fixed income sector, traditionally slower to digitize than equities, is now seeing a rapid consolidation of data sources. For the broader industry, this move raises questions about the long-term viability of standalone data terminals. As more firms move toward "single-pane-of-glass" solutions, providers that cannot offer deep, native integrations with liquidity venues like MarketAxess may find themselves increasingly marginalized in the institutional market.
